SPINY ORB WEAVER SPIDER
Most people will notice the large webs the Spiny Orb Weaver Spider when an infestation occurs. They are the most active October through January and are found in citrus trees, shrubs and pool cages.
The six projections or spines protruding from its back, helps identify this spider. They are usually white with black spikes, or yellow with black spikes.
The females are the only ones with spikes, while the males have a few smaller humps on his back. Males are usually 2 to 3mm, while females are 5 to 10mm.
